Adding to today's IGT

Spectrin

Cell membrane protein

Gives biconcave disc shape to RBC

Lack of spectrin is hereditary

Leads to larger RBC which is spherical and cannot parachute / thimble through 5 micron diameter capillaries 

Blocks capillaries & leads to tissue damage

HEREDITARY SPHEROCYTOSIS
